Oil Filter Adapter

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Assembly Tool (T10118)

• Drip Tray

Removing

- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to => [ Air Filter Housing Overview ] Air Filter Housing Overview.

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove the fan shroud. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud with Coolant Fan ] Fan Shroud With Coolant Fan.

- Free up the wiring harnesses - arrows - and the connector - 1 - on the hot side charge air pipe.






- Remove the bolt - 1 - and remove the bracket.






- Disconnect the coolant hoses from the oil cooler.

- Loosen the clamp - 2 -, lift the circlip - 1 - and remove the cold side hose from the charge air cooler.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - from the charge air pipe and then disconnect the connector - 1 - from the charge air pressure sensor.

- Open the clamp - 2 -, free up the coolant hose - 3 - and remove the charge air pipe.






- Remove the bolt - arrow - and move the engine coolant circulation pump 2 to the side.






- Remove the connecting hose, see - item 13 - in the => [ Charge Air System Components Overview ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - for the oil dipstick tube.






- Remove the guide tube from the crankshaft housing and move it to the side.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the oil pressure switch using the assembly tool (T10118) and remove the oil pressure switch.






- Remove the oil supply line - 3 - from the oil filter bracket. Counter hold it with an open end wrench.

- Place a drip tray under the engine.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and oil filter bracket.






Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Replace all seals and O-rings.

• Oil filter bracket bolt tightening specification, refer to => [ Oil Filter Adapter and Engine Oil Cooler Overview ] Oil Filter Adapter and Engine Oil Cooler Overview.

• For the charge air circuit bolt tightening specifications, refer to => [ Charge Air System Components Overview ] Service and Repair.

• Fill with coolant. Refer to => [ Coolant, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.
